Engineering the transition beyond fossil fuels

EQUISERA

What we do

Equisera engineers circular energy systems that convert biogenic materials and waste into clean, fossil-competitive fuels while capturing carbon dioxide.

Using supercritical water, our patented Rising Pressure Reformer (RiPR) produces biomethane, hydrogen, captured carbon dioxide and biochar, enabling industry to decarbonise using existing infrastructure and without compromising reliability or cost. Designed for real-world deployment, RiPR delivers a scalable pathway to clean, circular energy.

The Solution

Our RiPR technology can produce both biomethane and hydrogen from a wide range of biogenic materials, while simultaneously capturing carbon dioxide and creating biochar.

The result is a system that actively removes emissions while supplying fuels industry can use today. Biomethane enables immediate decarbonisation of heat, power and gas networks, while hydrogen production can scale as markets, policy and infrastructure mature.

The Difference

RiPR is engineered to handle wet, mixed biogenic feedstocks without dependence on intermittent renewable electricity, extensive pre-treatment, or scarce critical materials. By producing low levels of tars and contaminants and embedding carbon capture within the core process, RiPR delivers a stable, scalable alternative to fossil-derived natural gas and hydrogen.

The result is a system designed not just to decarbonise, but to operate reliably at industrial scale, using waste streams that other technologies struggle to process.

The Opportunity

Industry must decarbonise now, but solutions only scale when they compete with fossil fuels on cost and reliability.

RiPR meets that challenge by converting low-cost biogenic feedstocks into biomethane that can drop straight into existing gas infrastructure, delivering immediate emissions reduction without system disruption. The platform also provides a clear pathway to carbon-negative hydrogen as markets and infrastructure evolve, enabling customers to decarbonise today while future-proofing their energy supply.

ABOUT US

Our story

Equisera was founded in 2022, originally operating as Wild Hydrogen, when Mark and James came together to turn a long-held technical idea into a practical response to climate change. What began as a concept for producing carbon-negative hydrogen quickly expanded as the team recognised the wider potential of the system, including biomethane production and carbon capture.

In early 2026, Wild Hydrogen became Equisera, reflecting the company’s evolution from a single-technology focus to a broader, system-led approach to circular energy and decarbonisation. Today, Equisera is advancing its pilot plant and progressing towards commercial deployment, demonstrating that scalable, fossil-competitive, negative-emissions energy systems are not theoretical, but already being built.
